Antique Javanese Sanskrit Signet Stamp Ring Old Authentic Indonesian Jewelry
Antique Javanese Sanskrit Signet Stamp Ring Old Authentic Indonesian Jewelry. Size 9, Weight: 18 grams. This cast Copper alloy ring features an old Javanese inscription in Sanskrit and probably dates between the 11th and 13th century. This heavy bronze ring is believed to have been used by their wearers as seal rings to place a mark on wax.

The inscriptions are highly stylized and difficult to translate but known examples include words such as'sarat', (the entire world),'mahana' (a Brahmin),'brati' (a penintent), and'pujana' (worship). They appear to be associated with spiritual or religious matters and may have served as reminders to their wearers of spiritual ideals. The Majapahit Empire was a Javanese Hindu-Buddhist thalassocratic empire in Southeast Asia, based on the island of Java (part of modern-day Indonesia). Majapahit reached its peak of glory during the era of Hayam Wuruk, whose reign from 1350 to 1389 was marked by conquest which extended through Southeast Asia. Majapahit was one of the last major Hindu empires of the region and is considered to be one of the greatest and most powerful empires in the history of Indonesia and Southeast Asia, one that is sometimes seen as the precedent for Indonesia's modern boundaries.

It's influence extended beyond the modern territory of Indonesia and has been the subject of many studies. This item is in the category "Jewelry & Watches\Vintage & Antique Jewelry\Rings". The seller is "coinrco" and is located in this country: US. This item can be shipped worldwide.
